clinical Anti-black racism training

Our staff has over twenty years of experience developing specific clinical anti-Black racism training for mental health and health practitioners in various systems (i.e., police, education, child welfare, hospitals, and businesses).

Anti-black racism training pertaining to an agency’s general policies, procedures and practices is different from the specific clinical approaches to healing and trauma due to racism and anti-Black racism. Millan & Associates can assist with clinical racial trauma training, cultural healing modalities, history/theory behind the practices and supports.

The stress response associated with racism and discrimination, like general stress responses, is inextricably linked to an individual’ s coping mechanisms (e.g., strategies, resources, cognitive ability, and personality traits). There are both psychological and physiological consequences associated with the stress response” (Clark, Anderson, Clark, & Williams, 1999)” (Utsey et al 2002, p. 368).
